savannah spanglish

savannah makes me laugh every day. every. single. day. she is also constantly impressing me with her linguistic skills.

example number one. when we go to the park, she always finds sticks to pick up and then, with a very hermione-ish tone she says, "Swish and Flick, Wingardium Leviosa!" see? Latin. Or magic.

example number two. in the car this morning on the way to preschool, a whole string full of white FedEx trucks turned left in front of us, savannah began saying animatedly, "hola! Adios! hola! adios!" and waving to every truck that passed. Then she would laugh hysterically and squeal out the words, "We're silly girls!" So I laughed and said, "estamos chistosas!" Then she burst out laughing and said, "Estamos Chistosas!! Ha Ha-- Wait. Daddy is at work. When Daddy is at work we speak Engerish. Not spanish, Mommy, Engerish. Okay? You have to speak Engerish and I have to speak Engerish, okay?" Okay, Savannah...

I'm glad she can speak wizard. I'm glad she can speak spanish. I'm especially glad that she can speak engerish.
